Wild Fire Fighting
  Save a village by managing a wildfire
  Every year, several forest fires burn across many hectares of Canada’s wilderness. Usually the fires are caused by lightning or people who are careless with burning materials, such as cigarettes and camp fires. Also, wardens may decide to start a fire, a “controlled burn,” that allows them to reduce the chances of a wildfire. Park wardens work with other agencies, including trained firefighters, to control and suppress fires.

Wildfire fighters need to remove one or more of the three elements necessary to a fire – oxygen, heat and fuel.
Playing the Games
 

Before you play Wild Fire Fighter, activate the Managing Forest Fires Tutorial.

Read through the information to learn about fire’s three elements, and how firefighters work to remove one or more of them.

In Wild Fire Fighter, you zoom into areas of a wilderness fire. After you’ve zoomed, you must decide which fire element to remove – fuel, oxygen or heat. After you make your decision, the screen reverts to the wilderness fire scene. Then you move onto another section of the fire.

A Help button is available to give you more information to make your decision about which fire element to remove.
